Courtney Jinsook Bae is a Korean American creative. Her works are filled with fearless provocation and yet we are left feeling energised and excited. As a child, Bae’s first encounters with visual arts came from her father's expressive Chinese brushstroke paintings. Her own explorations began mainly in watercolour but quickly expanded to include oils. She is best known for her large scale oil works that flirt between abstract figurative and abstract expressionism. Bae loves to work on commercial projects where her creative direction can broaden in medium and become more challenging due to the landscape of commercial marketing; a stomping ground Bae thrives in.
Courtney Jinsook Bae (b. 1986, Australia) has earned degrees from Southern New Hampshire University and the Fashion Institute of Technology. She has won multiple juried awards and exhibited in New York, London, and Europe at various galleries including: Saatchi Gallery London, Denise Bibro Fine Art, New York; Sweet Art, London; Dacia Gallery, New York; Sideshow Gallery, Brooklyn; and Candid Arts Trust, London amongst others. The artist lives and works in London.
